We are a co-educational, college preparatory high school, serving grades 9 through 12 and post graduate. Putnam Science Academy is located in the “Quiet Corner” of Connecticut on a peaceful 30 acre campus overlooking the Quinebaug River in the Town of Putnam, Connecticut. The academic wing of the school is housed in a small 1960’s building. The residential facility is located in a large red brick 1950’s building and a local landmark building, which is the highest building in town.

The best way to learn more about Putnam Science Academy is to schedule a visit and take a tour of our campus.  For international students or anyone that is not available to visit, we are happy to schedule a Zoom, Facetime or Skype interview as well.

Please take the time to navigate through our website to collect as much information as you can and learn about who we are as a school, what we have to offer our students and how we may be the right choice for you when looking towards your future.

Feel free to fill it out our online application form or fill out the «Inquire about PSA» form to contact us and we will be in touch with you to answer any questions you may have about becoming a Mustang.  Our Admissions Department is looking forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Admissions Department

Tuition assistance is available to families that demonstrate a need for support by completing a financial aid application. When you fill out your application to Putnam Science Academy, please be sure to indicate that you will be applying for financial aid.

To apply for financial aid, please complete the steps below:

* Step 1: Fill out a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) on the SSS financial aid website.

* Step 2: Upload complete federal income tax returns and W2’s  2019 and 2020 for BOTH parents’ of the student.

Please note: Requests for financial aid typically exceed available funds, and awards are made to only a percentage of accepted students. You should be aware that every year there are applicants who are accepted to Putnam Science Academy who qualify for but do not receive financial aid.

Financial aid at Putnam Science Academy is awarded based on demonstrated financial need. To determine financial need, Putnam Science Academy uses a nationally standardized system for financial aid offered by School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS). SSS collects a family’s financial information and performs an initial analysis, providing an estimated need to Putnam Science Academy. The Financial Aid Committee at Putnam Science Academy uses this estimated need as a guideline in determining financial aid eligibility and awards. For a comprehensive guide to the financial aid process as outlined by SSS, click here.

If you receive financial aid in your child’s first year, you will continue to receive financial aid in subsequent years as long as you demonstrate a continued need for assistance. Circumstances may change, which is why we require that families submit a new financial aid application each year.

If your child enrolls at Putnam Science Academy without financial aid, you may apply for financial aid in subsequent years. However, it is unlikely that you will receive financial aid. That being said, if you are able to demonstrate a significant change in circumstances, we will make every effort to provide assistance to our current families. It is Putnam Science Academy’s policy that each parent, regardless of custodial arrangements, must complete a financial aid application through SSS.
