The Putnam Science Academy football program will emphasizes on overall player growth and development while providing significant opportunities for college exposure throughout the year.
Each student-athlete has a support system to assist them inclusive of a head coach, position coach, strength and conditioning coach, athletic trainers, teachers, college advisors, and more to aid in their player development.
Putnam Science Academy’s Football program is committed to excellence on and off the football field. Our student-athletes will see positive direction and change in all aspects of their lives from academics, athletics, and just being overall great young men.

Coach Mook “Hollywood” Zimmerman is a Connecticut native born and raised in Waterbury, CT. The Sacred Heart alum went on to play seven (7) years of professional football in both North and South America.
Coach Mook comes with vast experience in all levels of football, as a former standout in high school, college, and Pro football. He certainly comes with a Championship pedigree all the while winning championships at every level that he has coached.
Coach Mook began his coaching career at Sacred Heart Catholic in Waterbury, CT, serving as the defensive coordinator. Shortly after that he became the head coach of the independent Pro Indoor football team, during the 2016 season where they were undefeated before discontinuing the program. In 2017, he then joined the Richmond Roughriders of the Arena Pro Football league (APF) as their Head Coach and let the team to two (2) undefeated seasons with two (2) championship titles and also won the AAL Coach of the Year during 2017 and 2019. Coach Mook also coached his Waterbury Patriots 11U team to their first ever State and Regional Championship, finishing 6th in the country in 2022.
Shortly before taking the Head Coach position here at Putnam Science Academy, Coach served as the Defensive Line/Linebackers coach for the Massachusetts Pirates in the Pro Indoor Football League in 2023.
