Financial aid at Putnam Science Academy is awarded based on demonstrated financial need. To determine financial need, Putnam Science Academy uses a nationally standardized system for financial aid offered by School and Student Services for Financial Aid (SSS). SSS collects a family’s financial information and performs an initial analysis, providing an estimated need to Putnam Science Academy. The Financial Aid Committee at Putnam Science Academy uses this estimated need as a guideline in determining financial aid eligibility and awards. For a comprehensive guide to the financial aid process as outlined by SSS, click here.
If you receive financial aid in your child’s first year, you will continue to receive financial aid in subsequent years as long as you demonstrate a continued need for assistance. Circumstances may change, which is why we require that families submit a new financial aid application each year.
If your child enrolls at Putnam Science Academy without financial aid, you may apply for financial aid in subsequent years. However, it is unlikely that you will receive financial aid. That being said, if you are able to demonstrate a significant change in circumstances, we will make every effort to provide assistance to our current families. It is Putnam Science Academy’s policy that each parent, regardless of custodial arrangements, must complete a financial aid application through SSS.

We at PSA believe that every student who comes through our doors deserves a strong education and athletic experience.
At Putnam Science Academy education is not only an investment in your child’s future but also a significant financial commitment. The financial pool is, however, very competitive, and families applying for aid should begin the application process as soon as possible.
Due to the limited financial aid budget, PSA is not able to offer financial aid to every family who may qualify.
If you have specific questions regarding financial aid and the
application process, please contact the Admissions Department at admissions@putnamscience.org.
